4:58 pm - New Year's Resolutions

Well it's another New Year's Day, and a rainy one at that (big surprise). I've had this LJ id running for months and haven't touched it, and I haven't written anything of worth in a long time either.
I was watching some reviews of the year last night and realised there was a lot I missed in 2006; it all just seemed to pass me by. Course, it doesn't help that it's getting hard to sift the significant stuff from all the celebrity and reality crap in the news nowadays. Still, I think it's time I got my head out the sand, even if it is filled with the usual start-of-a-new-year fog.
I figure, if I at least write down my aims, I can't ignore or forget them, and if I write them in a public place, I can't pretend it wasn't me! And, in deference to the toilet wall of the local pub, LJ is probably the best place for such musings.
Course, until they take the pins out of my broken ankle next week, the diet and fitness resolutions are a bit moot. But there's always the one about making sure I keep my head out of the sand, take notice of the world around me, and maybe try and contribute a bit more to it.
